LARALAB and HDZ Bad Oeynhausen collaborate on CESAR-TR, a Multi-Center Registry for patients with Tricuspid Regurgitation
MUNICH, GERMANY & BAD OEYNHAUSEN, GERMANY, March 19th, 2025 / LARALAB GmbH and the Heart and Diabetes Center NRW (HDZ Bad Oeynhausen) have partnered on CESAR-TR, a multi-center registry led by Prof. Volker Rudolph and Prof. Tanja Rudolph to advance imaging-based treatment decisions for severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR).
Severe TR is a common valvular disease linked to worsening heart failure and high mortality. While surgical treatment is rarely performed, transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions (TTVI) offer less invasive alternatives, including repair (edge-to-edge or annuloplasty) and replacement.
CESAR-TR collects tricuspid imaging data from multiple sites to identify anatomical predictors that influence the success of TTVI, with the goal of improving patient selection and procedural strategies.
As part of the collaboration, LARALAB’s heart.ai software provides automated AI-driven cardiac CT analysis and decision support for tricuspid valve interventions.
"By integrating heart.ai into CESAR-TR, we aim to refine patient selection and optimize treatment strategies for tricuspid regurgitation," said Prof. Volker Rudolph, Principal Investigator of CESAR-TR at HDZ Bad Oeynhausen. "Advanced AI-driven imaging will help us gain deeper insights into anatomical predictors for TTVI and improve decision-making for these complex procedures."
